Join us for anywhere from one day to up to a week long trip on our favorite peaks. The town of Crested Butte lies at the foot of the rugged and challenging Elk Mountains, making our backyard a mountainous playground for all types of activities. Mountaineering challenges abound just moments from your doorstep, or venture farther and deeper into other well-known Colorado Mountaineering destinations with us. Snow climbs, alpine ice, and alpine rock routes all await you on a Crested Butte Mountain Guides Colorado Mountaineering trip. Climb one of the famed Colorado 14er's with us, and learn the basics of technical mounatineering and alpine climbing skills. We offer custome guided climbs on a wide range of Colorado fourteeners, from easy walk-ups, to technical roped snow, rock, and ice climbs. We hold USFS permits for numerous mountain ranges within Colorado, and can offer a guided climb during any season or time of year. Let one of our experienced guides use their intimate mountain knowledge and training to make your Colorado Mountaineering or 14er summit bid safer and more successful.

Our offices sit nestled beneath the stark granite walls of Mount Crested Butte, and just moments away from the golden granite walls of local Taylor Canyon, home to some of the best in Colorado rockclimbing. Walk in the footsteps of such climbing legends as Jimmy Dunn, Lou Dawson, and Yvon Chouinard above the beautiful Taylor River. Our guides have traveled and climbed all over the globe, and have picked the Crested Butte area as home because of the close proximity to such incredible Colorado rockclimbing, as Taylor Canyon and the adventure offered by Black Canyon Climbing. Let our AMGA trained guides share their knowledge of rockclimbing movement and skill, while teaching you the basics of rope work, belaying, and rappelling. We can accomadate groups of all sizes, ages, and experience levels. Other climbing areas include local sport-climbing area Hartman Rocks, and Cement Creek. Those with climbing experience looking for a more challenging and adventurous outing can venture with us for a unique experience on our Black Canyon climbing trips into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. We are proud to be one of the few National Park Service permit holders for guiding Black Canyon climbing...the quintessential multi-pitch adventure climbing area in Colorado.

Whether your like fast, buttery-smooth wildflower laced trails, or the technical gnar of rocky and craggy testpieces, we have something for everyone. Crested Butte Mountain Biking is the perfect blend of all levels; where beginners and families can join us on a half-day ride on one of our favorite local and quick to get to rides, or those familiar with spending more time in the saddle can let our guides show you the local all-day "must-do" alpine rides, local testpiece, or a little-known obscure gem of a ride. Colorado mountain biking has some of the best and accessible single track riding in the country, and Crested Butte mountain biking is the birthplace of it all. We will visit seldom seen high alpine lakes and tarns, beautiful meadows of pristine wildflowers, dramatic waterfalls and mountain creeks, and camp below stunning alpine peaks. Choose from mellow and easy valley and lower elevation trips, to strenuous high alpine passes and peaks.
