We offer a variety of courses to fit whatever your skill level or goals may be. Join us for a ½ day Intro to Rockclimbing Basics, take a more involved multi-day course focusing on gear systems and safety, or join us on a technical alpine peak climb.

Colorado rockclimbing has a long and storied history throughout the development of the sport. Join our guides on climbs to Taylor Canyon, Cement Creek, Hartman's Rocks, and guided Black Canyon Climbing trips, as they share with you their love of the sport, it's history, and the fun to be had.

Fall Offerings: This fall we are offering a Rock Rescue Course. We will guide local rock climbing as long as the weather permits. Turn your day into a multi-sport day with a trip to Hartman's--Rock climb in the morning and bike in the afternoon!

Full Day Climb

For beginners looking for an all day adventure or folks already moderately familiar with the sport of climbing. This course focuses on the basics of the sport; belaying, rappelling, and an introduction to gear use.

Get the most of your day from our guide's local and intimate knowledge of such local Colorado rockclimbing destinations as: Taylor Canyon, Cement Creek, and Hartman Rocks.

Advanced Multi-Pitch, Alpine, & Black Canyon Climbing:

MULTI-PITCH CLIMBING: A more advanced day of multi-pitch climbing. A complete introduction to the multi-pitch climbing sequence. A perfect progression for the intermediate climber.

ALPINE ROCK CLIMBS: Take your skills from the crags and expand them into the alpine realm. Learn how to safely and proficiently ascend technical peaks with basic rockclimbing systems. This course starts out with a day at the local crag, and then moves into the alpine environment for a technical peak ascent. Go out with one of our experienced guides and climb such classics as the “Ellingwood Arete” on Crestone Needle (one of Roper’s 50 Classic Climbs), the area classic “Sunset Ridge” on Mount Crested Butte, or many other famous and stellar high alpine Colorado rockclimbing destinations.

BLACK CANYON OF THE GUNNISON: Explore the soaring granite walls in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. For climbers with more experience, we are privelaged to offer guided Black Canyon climbing trips. A day with us here offers the quintissential multi-pitch adventure climbing experience. Start early, or camp out with others in the Black Canyon climbing campground the night before. Get an early alpine start, as you descend into the surreal depths towards the raging whitewater of the Gunnsion River, with towering the towering walls of the Black Canyon climbing routes all around you. Join your guide on such Black Canyon climbing classics as: Maiden Voyage (5.9), Casually Off-Route (5.8+), Escape Artist (5.9+), Comic Relief (5.10), or something more unique, challenging, and longer. *Climbing experience required*

Custom Courses:

CUSTOM ROCK RESCUE COURSE: A “must take” for any serious climber. This course will teach you to the necessary skills for getting yourself out of that inevitable jam before it happens. Two full days of rope rescue systems help you learn the skills needed to escape a belay, lower an injured climber, ascend a stuck rope, or rig a pulley system. 2 Days /// $500 (single person) Also being offerend in a group class on Sept. 10-12, 2010 for $325 per person.

LEAD CLIMBING COURSE: A 3-day progression of skills, focused mainly on the art of lead and traditional climbing. Participants will review basic climbing skills, and learn proper anchor building techniques, gear placement, and rope systems. Courses will take place at such Colorado rockclimbing destinations as Taylor Canyon or The Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. 3 Days /// $700
