Avalanche Refresher Course
|
This is the ideal short-format course for people looking to refresh their current avalanche safety knowledge, or for those looking to learn of the newest, latest and greatest tests and techniques.
This 1-day course will be entirely field based, and will focus on terrain recognition, travel techniques, decision-making, and a mock rescue scenario. Ratios will be kept small to maximize travel options and learning time. Industry news and cutting edge updates, tests, and techniques will be introduced.
All material presented in this course will be consistent with AIARE curriculum.

Participants need to arrive ready to travel in the winter backcountry in a variety of conditions and terrain, and need to provide themselves with all avalanche rescue gear, a backcountry travel system, and food.
All courses will meet at the Crested Butte Mountain Guides office in downtown Crested Butte, CO.
Course timeline will be from 8 am until 6 pm
